Job Description


Hiring an experienced Test Technician to join our FM 529 facility in Houston, TX! Our test technicians are responsible for the assembly, installation, modification, testing, and maintenance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and preferred software at the component level.

Roles and Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assembles and installs either electrical, electronic, mechanical or hydraulic / pneumatic components.

- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, and schematics.

- Operate machines or use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place.

- Mount assembly components on panel or printed circuit boards, and connect component lead wires to printed circuits or routes and connect wires between individual component leads and other components using advanced soldering and crimping skills.

- Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.

- Assemble and attach functional and cosmetic hardware to assemblies using hand tools and power tools.

- Perform continuity tests on completed assemblies.

- Perform the assembly, start up, and function test of equipment systems.

- Troubleshoot systems, make necessary repairs and any corrections to system.

- Install and verify preferred software.

- Perform other work related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

***EDUCATION REQUIRED - HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED***



SCHEDULE: 6: 00AM TO 4: 30PM - 10 TO 20 HOURS OF OVERTIME EXPECTED PER WEEK (VARIES BASED ON WORK DEMAND)



TOP SKILLS REQUIRED:

- PREVIOUS TEST/REPAIR AND TROUBLESHOOTING EXPERIENCE (MUST BE SHOWN ON ALL RESUMES)

- MUST HAVE BASIC ELECTRICAL CERTIFICATION OR 5 + YEARS WORKING IN THE SAME FIELD

- PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE TESTING EQUIPMENT (MUST BE SHOWN ON ALL RESUMES)

- ABILITY TO READ SCHEMATICS

- GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILLS (WRITTEN AND VERBAL)



ALL INTERVIEWS WILL BE COMPLETED IN PERSON. THE HIRING MANAGER WOULD LIKE TO HIRE ASAP.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum of 3 years of assemble/mechanical experience.

- High school diploma or GED

- Ability to operate both JIB and Overhead cranes.

- Ability to operate Class II & IV Forklifts (Order Picker & Hyster 50? 170).

- Ability to work at high levels? Wears Fall Protection Harness when performing work at above 4-feet.



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Exposed to loud noise while in the warehouse.

- Exposed to moving parts while on the shop floor.

- Works in warehouse / shop floor environment setting 100% of the day, 0% of the day in spent at a computer in an office.

- Exposed to occasional hot and/or cold weather depending on outside climate conditions and warehouse temperature.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $50K-61K per year, however, the salary offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This salary information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
