Reporting to the Manager, Data Services the Storage Analyst is responsible for providing architectural and development expertise, leadership in the design, development, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and customer support for various data platforms within the Data Centre of Excellence. The Storage Analyst has an in-depth understanding of data operation best practices as well as expertise with the tools needed to debug and diagnose issues.
Roles and Responsibilities
Duties:
The primary responsibilities for Data Platform Analyst are (but not limited to):
Lead system implementation and design and architecture for the development, enhancements, and maintenance of Cloud Data Platforms (Azure, Snowflake. Databricks) and other key data platforms (Open Government portal, Cloudera, etc.) to ensure the system design meets business requirements.
Support the design and build scalable and reliable data infrastructure, tooling, CI/CD pipelines to improve company s data product delivery, analytics and data science teams using cloud (Azure/ AWS/ GCP) and big data technologies.
Deliver data platform management and administration, in alignment with the organization's strategic goals, to manage, govern, and integrate data within government.
Configure and tune cloud-based tools to manage cost, security, and compliance for the environments. Working across a myriad of technology stacks in Azure, Cloudera, Snowflake etc.
Provide services to support data privacy and security in adherence to enterprise policies (access control, security policies across platforms, etc.).
Collaboration with other Team members to improve and optimize Cloud and On-premises Infrastructure systems in non-functional perspective: scalability, reliability, performance, capacity, availability and disaster recovery.
Contribute to defining and establishing an Enterprise Data Strategy in GoA and be actively involved in the design of modern data platform features and functionalities, improving scalability and maintainability.
Support projects to address the implementation of data product delivery components of the Data Strategy.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
4- year degree in Computer Science
4 years of experience with: Snowflake, Databricks, Power BI, Purview, & OS Platforms.
Required to travel between Edmonton & Calgary.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $77.00-$96.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
