Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Quality Control Laboratory Manager will be responsible for the execution and tracking of daily production support testing activities as well as providing support on a project basis. Major activities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the development of equipment and method validations to support ad-hoc limited qualifications, method validations, new equipment qualifications, and re-qualifications. Ensure appropriate qualifications activities are performed and documented in compliance with GMPs and GDPs.
- Ensure that testing of raw materials, in process, and final products and stability samples is performed. Provide technical support including analytical testing to Research and Development.
- Ensure that laboratory testing is performed as needed for daily production support activities and projects to ensure timely product evaluations and delivery to FAR Chemical customers.
- Assure proper maintenance and cGMP compliance of laboratory instruments, chemicals, and reagents. Order laboratory chemicals, supplies and equipment.
- Serve as liaison between CSP and instrument vendors for instrument cGMP compliance, instrument repairs, and maintenance. Renew instrument contract as necessary with consultation with Quality Assurance.
- Prepare Laboratory related documents including test methods, test protocols, methods Development report, SOPs, R & D study reports and other reports as necessary. Review work and notebooks of laboratory personnel.
- Partner with Production, R&D and Quality associates to monitor lab performance and identify areas of continuous improvement.
- Provide supervision to staff in daily laboratory operations.
- All activities will be conducted in a manner which ensures compliance with highly regulated specialty chemical industry.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry
Required Skills/Experience:
- 5 years recent experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated specialty chemical industry with laboratory testing/oversight experience is required, along with supervisory experience directing one or more laboratory personnel.
- Course training and/or experience with methods development, validation, and stability testing in the regulated specialty chemical industry.
- Course training and/or knowledge of scientific report writing is required.
- Working knowledge of chromatographic and spectroscopic instruments.
- Working knowledge of cGMP, ISO and ICH guidelines.
- Knowledge of and competence with Microsoft products (Outlook email, Excel spreadsheets, and Word processing) is required.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is highly desired.
- Minimal travel may be required from time to time.
