Job Description


Join one of the leading clients in a direct hire leadership position at their Camarillo, CA plant. We are searching for Camarillo s next Machine Shop Production Manager and hope this may be you. Be an advocate and support the Win Strategy in this position by managing and improving the quality, cost, delivery, morale, and safety in the plant s internal Machine Shop. Exercise your experience in production and capacity planning. Show off your process improvement skills by coaching your team on problem solving, empower them by eliciting their participation and inclusion in shared community goals and objectives, by collaborating on measurable improvement outcomes such as machine set-up time and efficiencies.

Roles and Responsibilities:


Supervise and direct work activity in a machine shop of around 20 individuals. Distribute workload strategically to immediate machine shop and coordinate with the larger onsite production community. Involvement with the quality departments, and other stakeholders all supporting the client s production objectives. An opportunity exists to work with supply chain to map the strategy for the internal and external machining needs.
Advise direct reports including motivating and empowering subordinates. Develop subordinates including, but not limited to, constructing and executing development plans.
Be a model and proponent of continuous improvement opportunities. Constantly identify and eliminate waste in assigned departments. Champion Lean Kaizen events to identify cost and time savings. Participate in cost-reduction programs. Coordinate new product launches with Engineering.
Ensure quality standards are met that emphasize and focus on continuous improvement in an effort to improve manufacturing capability and reduce rework and scrap. Contain source of quality issues. Communicate with customers and establish and maintain effective relationships. Coordinate corrective action activities.
Perform capacity analysis using build plans. Determine staffing requirements for the assigned production area. Ensure that departmental productivity targets are met to meet customer requirements. Troubleshoot scheduling and material issues.
Develop and deploy standardized work instructions of assigned department(s). Ensure process stability through following standardized work.
Promote and enforce compliance of safety policies and procedures. Conduct safety investigations and audits. Address safety non-compliance. Maintain Operation Showcase.


Qualifications and Education Requirements:




Bachelor s Degree

Minimum of 5 years scheduling and planning in a highly regulated industry such as automotive, rail, aerospace, air, industrial machine manufacturing, etc.
Preferably a closely related company structure such as another large enterprise production company requiring cross collaboration among other departments and internal stakeholders.
Minimum of 2-3 years advising and growing direct reports in a technical department, machine shop preferred, although all production department supervisor experience will be considered before interview selections are made.
You are not required to have had CNC machining, programming or set up experience, but it is certainly a plus. Yet you do need to know your way around a machine shop and have come from a manufacturing/production supervisor background.
Completed college degree such as a B.A. /B.S. Degree in a related technical field such as engineering, supply chain management, business administration (with a trades/production/manufacturing background) are examples
Substantial practical knowledge and understanding of products, manufacturing processes, and/or specialty areas in quality or operations support, including applicable information systems and reports (e.G. MRP or other planning/execution systems). General knowledge of business and government regulations (e.G. Manufacturing specifications, FAA, safety), a plus if applicant is familiar experienced with ITAR and EAR regulations from planning purposes.
Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident ["green card" holders], or have refugee or asylee status).
Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations.




Must have a valid driver s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.


Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is $78, 000 - $120, 000 salary; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
