This opportunity is on-site and is located at 935 Sunshine Rd. Kansas City, KS 66115

Schedule: Monday- Friday 10am-6: 30pm



The Picker/Packer (Lab Assistant) is responsible for warehouse functions to include unloading and unpacking shipments, inbound processing, scanning and shelving of parts, pulling orders, and data entry into a computerized inventory control system. Processes rework and audits merchandise by counting, ticketing, packing, and sorting. Inspects merchandise items to ensure proper quality and brand specification. Tracks information to facilitate flow of merchandise through the distribution center. Works with moderate work direction and can identify issues/problems but may need assistance in resolving. This role is 50% data entry focused, and 50% warehouse receiving/processing and sample sorting duties: receiving mail, mail opening, data entry in qualifying sample info, sorting samples into trays for processing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Labor/Warehouse Duties

Handling the retaining and disposal of in service oil samples

May be responsible for some receiving of mail, mail opening, and sorting of in service oil samples into trays for processing.

Locating and pulling trays of samples that are ready for retain. Placing them into the laboratory equipment that holds retained samples.

Locating and pull trays of samples that have reach their disposal date.

Disposing of samples utilizing lab equipment that crushes the sample bottles and drains oil into an oil vat.

Discarding crushed sample bottles into dumpster after an allotted period has passed.

Receives, opens, and sorts in daily samples as necessary.

Open mail packages

Dispose of packaging material per process (recycling bins or trash bins)

Refers to work instructions or standard operating procedures, as necessary.

Maintains work area to facility housekeeping standards.

Attends and participates in monthly Safety Meetings

Data Entry

Receiving mail, mail opening, data entry in qualifying sample information, sorting samples into trays for processing.

Opening packages of consumables and entering into electronic inventory system.

Receives, opens, sorts and logs in daily samples as necessary.

Open mail packages and organize samples in the correct trays

Dispose of packaging material per process (recycling bins or trash bins)

Qualifying Samples (Data Entry) includes alphanumeric, but mostly numbers; identify correct customer (~30 seconds to 1 minute processing/sample).

Sort/Login samples and place in correct tray

Refers to work instructions or standard operating procedures, as necessary.

Maintains work area to facility housekeeping standards.

Attends and participates in monthly Safety Meetings

Open packages of consumables and entering them into the lab s electronic inventory system.

Monitor and order laboratory inventory

Scope of Work specific to this Assignment:

Aside from opening packages this contractor will then Qualify the samples (Data Entry)
Data Entry Alphanumeric, but mostly numbers (length: hours, months, years, and/or dates, and customer/package number)
Identify correct customer and lubricant numbers
High level of accuracy needed w/data entry errors costly to business/delivery
QR Code on each package, and Product Detail, Asset Number and Equipment Detail
Section of label that includes hours for oil, filter change, and/or product change
Assistant scans bottled ID, pops up on screen confirm information matches, and input data from package label
Takes 30 seconds 1 minute to input, print label and attach to bottle



Qualifications and Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Attention to detail.

General understanding of warehouse

Ability to lift sample trays of ~50 lbs.

Data Entry experience

Ability to follow written and/or verbal instruction.

Interpersonal

Oral Communication

Document/Word Processing

Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
