Job Description


Company is seeking a P6 Construction Scheduler. Duties include developing and managing schedules for Turnaround/Shutdown projects performed in the planned outage. The Scheduler will manage progressing, produce look-aheads, and reporting out of Primavera. These positions will also ensure that all team members adhere to company Scheduling Standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The P6 Scheduler applies Primavera technical principals, specialized techniques and knowledge of related disciplines to ensure effective schedule development through appropriate sequencing and prioritization of work.

  • Develops realistic construction OR turnaround schedules of consistent high quality with predictable outcomes that meet business objectives and comply with company Standards.



  • Reviews turnaround estimates for accuracy against Engineering Work Orders.



  • Updates schedules during turnaround execution. Performs proactive schedule analysis during execution periods. Develops schedule reports and proactively analyzes schedules for change in scope.



  • Manage assigned plans and add to Primavera Master Schedule



  • Manage the Primavera file to assure that items are not added or removed after control estimate is complete without proper paperwork



  • Assure that all coding is correct in the Primavera schedules



  • Maintain updates to schedule to match work list as job cards are submitted from Leads



  • Attend overall Logic reviews with Leads and individual units to finalize logic



  • Manage the effort of manpower levelling the entire file and producing histograms to develop hiring plans



  • Entering progress updates



  • Interfacing with Project Controls to pass on man-hours for check estimates / control estimates



  • Produce and distribute look-aheads, daily schedules, productivity reports, daily progress/curves/bar charts for assigned turnarounds and any other requested reports from P6 and/or Analytics.



  • Interface with numerous planners to assure that their plans are per standards



  • Produce data to Leads for close out and performance summary reports for projects as required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Computer Proficiencies: Preferred proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Advanced Excel/Access Experience). SAP or Planning and Scheduling software a plus



  • Experience Preferred: Minimum of three years of experience in executing, contracting, planning and scheduling projects work preferred



  • Primavera P6 required



  • High School Diploma or equivalent



  • A full understanding of sequencing, prioritizing and resource leveling tasks associated with construction related activities, combined with a high level of knowledge and proven competency in the use and application of Primavera software is essential.



  • The ability to work under pressure and deliver work products to meet challenging deadlines is a requirement for this role. The incumbent must have strong analytical skills and be able to quickly review Primavera schedules to identify potential problem areas and present options to correct any issues.



  • The ability to incorporate refinery and HES standards. Must have knowledge of and reinforce all safe work practices and procedures.



  • Must be able to independently interface with multiple disciplines including Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Construction Contractors, Inspections, Cost Engineers and Senior Management to meet all deliverables incident and injury free, on time and on budget.



  • Strong Oral and written skills are required to facilitate effective reporting at all levels within the organization.



  • The successful candidate should be a self-starter, capable of proceeding using their own initiative and judgment with infrequent assistance from supervision





Must have a valid driver s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.


Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is $65.00-$80.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
