Position: Production Specialist Subsurface Rover

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

    • Assumes the responsibility of supervising and assisting installation/repair crews with troubleshooting artificial lift production equipment and scoping repairs and installation of all types of surface and subsurface equipment and locations.



    • Writes and oversees permit-type jobs including but not limited to hot work and confined entry.



    • Assist the Artificial Lift Corrosion Representative (ALCR) with the routine management of artificial lift activities in the field.



    • Developing the competencies to advance to ALCR.



    • Actively support Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices as described in the MCBU Safe Practice Manual, maintaining a safe working environment, and being prepared to respond to an environmental or safety event.



    • Rigorous participation in the JSA, PTW (Permit to Work), and SWA (Stop Work Authority), Pressure Pumping Standard, and procedures.



    • Works with Artificial Lift Corrosion Representative (ALCR) to understand and manage the gas lift, rod pump, electric submersible, and plunger lift systems.



    • Work closely with the ALCR to plan work and supervise crews installing, repairing, and replacing surface / subsurface equipment, ensuring competency and work quality.



    • Serve as relief for the ALCR which may require weekend call-out duty.



    • Works collaboratively with Field Specialists, PEs, and Trainees to optimize artificial lift, including run times and cycle management.



    • Assure all work performed adheres to Chevron's Operational Excellence standards and regulatory requirements.



    • Perform quality lookbacks on executed jobs.



    • Enter required data into Chevron's system of record.



    • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or equivalent.



    • At least 4 years of current operations experience in oil and gas or related petrochemical industries, including experience with regulations and the maintenance and testing requirements associated with related safety devices.



    • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), CMMS, and understanding of new software packages.
      Proficiency with artificial lift and field surveillance software systems (Rodstar, Centaur, Wellview, PIVision, EAM, Vogel Predictive, Petrosoft etc.)



    • Must live within 50 miles of the work location or be willing to relocate and possess a valid driver's license.



    • Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime based on work activity. Must work 9/80 schedule.



    • Act as Subsurface point of contact for all field specialists.



    • Lead HSE as it relates to the field execution of the Subsurface program.



    • Must be able to work independently with at times minimal support.



    • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively within a diverse team.



Preferred Qualifications

    • Associate or bachelor's degree of Applied Science in Petroleum Technology, Process Technology, or related technology.
      Four plus years of current operations experience in oil and gas or related petrochemical industries, including experience with regulations and the maintenance and testing requirements associated with related safety devices.



    • Ability to interpret gas lift production trend analysis and dynamometer cards



    • In-depth understanding of injection and or producing well equipment.



    • In-depth understanding of corrosion monitoring and control and chemical treating programs.



    • Demonstrated ability to operate, maintain and optimize pump-off controllers and or plunger lift controllers where applicable.



    • Advanced ability to conduct dynamometer analyses, fluid levels, and other onsite well diagnostics.



    • Demonstrated ability to analyze surface/subsurface problems and develop effective solutions.



    • Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize gas lift, rod pump, electronic submersible pump systems and plunger systems.



    • Broad knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and maintain major oil and gas production facility process systems including mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and production equipment.



    • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.



    • Ability to manage time effectively, and work with minimal supervision.



    • Ability to safely use the blowdown trailer.



    • Ability to acquire IADC Well Control certification

Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is $45 - $48 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
