Job Description


Roles and Responsibilities:

Supports design and manufacture of hardware in a machine shop setting through use of CNC and manual manufacturing tooling. Responsibilities include manufacture of hardware, training of less experienced personnel, adherence and enforcement of safety standards, and skillset progression through training. Develops and writes programs for numerically controlled machines using engineering specifications and drawings. Analyzes engineering drawings to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machine operations. Develops programs for machining parts, tools, or sheet metal on numerically controlled machines, such as a mill and lathe. Makes proper cutter selections for each part, taking into consideration such factors as speeds, types of cutters, feeds, and control system limitations. Selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part. Tests and modifies existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:



Job Requirements:
Programming experience (NX CAM preferred, 5+ years programming experience preferred):
- Multi-axis, live-tool lathe
- 5-axis mill
- 3-axis mill
Machine setup and operation experience (5+ years preferred):
- Multi-axis, live-tool lathe (Mori-Seiki)
- 5-axis mill (Haas)
- 3-axis mill (Haas)
- Manual mill, band saws, etc.
Willingness and openness to training individuals on the team to program and operate CNC machines
- Individuals to be trained may have less than 1 year experience
Ability to communicate well with others
- Active listening

- Able to separate yourself from personal expectations of others
- Able to be objective and non-judgmental
- Able to freely provide machining suggestions and best practices
- Be open and accepting to suggestions not being implemented

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Must have a valid driver s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.



Preferred Skills:

- 10+ years of experience in programming, setup and operation of CNC mills and lathes
- Past mentorship or leadership experience
- Experience improving manufacturing and shop processes for efficiency gains



Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is $45.00- $50.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
