Job Description


Job Overview:
Responsible for Project Everything3D (E3D)/Plant Design Management System (PDMS)/SmartPlant3D (SP3D) Setup and Administration Activities, Database Administration, Clash Manager set up, report customization, MDS customization (Support Modelling), Creation and Management of User-Defined Attributes (UDAs), Spooler Set up & Catalogue and Specification Building
Primary responsibilities are all aspects associated with the support, customization, and administration of E3D, PDMS, SP3D, and Navisworks projects in a global environment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Database creation and administration (including exporting, importing, clean-up, and merging databases)
Loading and building catalogues and specifications
Setting up users and databases, especially for collaboration between multiple companies (Chevron and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) /contractors)
Maintenance of the Chevron master catalogue, to ensure that the integrity is not compromised during and after EPC projects.
Creating macros in Programmable Macro Language (PML) to automate simple tasks like adding or updating UDAs, extraction of Navisworks/Review files, etc.
Preparation of 3D modelling guidelines and specifications
Create new catalogues for the projects as per vendor data for piping, equipment, structural, and electrical & instrumentation.
Support / Guide the design team for any issues (all disciplines)
Set up the clash management and run clash reports.
Generate custom reports from the 3D model as per project requirements.
Configure (including troubleshooting) and extract key deliverables like Material Take Off (MTO), piping isometrics, equipment lists, line lists, weight reports, etc.
Configure project-specific customizations using PML/PML II
Setup support configuration and customization to enable supports modelling and drawing extraction.
Coordinate with all disciplines to ensure that the output of 2D drawings from 3D model is maximized.
Setup & configure drawing styles & rulesets for extraction of various types of 2D drawings for various disciplines.
Manage E3D/PDMS Global and E3D/PDMS Extract Databases. Coordinate with Systems lead in setting up global projects.
Maintain global catalogues.
Create local backups of running projects as necessary.

Essential Qualifications and Education:
Design Engineering and/or IT background
Experience working as a Piping Designer, and very strong knowledge of plant layout, piping design, and piping materials. Knowledge of instrumentation, mechanical/ HVAC, Electrical, Civil/ Structural plant components is highly desired.
Must be able to read, understand and interpret the contents on a P&ID.
Must be able to integrate/ work with laser scan point cloud datasets within the 3D model.
Good understanding of Design Engineering and associated work practices
Very good knowledge of configuring and supporting all modules within E3D / PDMS / SP3D
Minimum of 10 years' work experience as a E3D / PDMS / SP3D administrator, preferably in a global environment
Practical knowledge of PML/PML II programming language
Good communication skills in English (verbal and written)
Conversant with MS office applications

EDUCATION:
Bachelor Degree - Design Engineering and/or IT Background

PAY RANGE:


The starting pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
