Roles and Responsibilities:
**2nd Shift Only. Second shift hours will be (approximately) from 2: 30 PM to 12: 00 AM (Sunday through Wednesday) and 2: 30 PM to 11: 00 PM every other Thursday*. Performs the following duties, and other required activities as assigned. Must demonstrate competencies necessary to meet business requirements. May perform as a member or leader of a functional and/or cross-functional team. -Deburrs fabricated parts with hand and power tools. -May removes excess metal and surface defects fabricated parts and assemblies prior to plating and painting using abrasive wheels and other power and hand tools, -Selects abrasive belt or wheel according to grain size, type of finish specified, product being polished, or amount of metal to be removed, using knowledge of polishing operations and abrasives. -Examines parts for acceptability of finish, ensuring assemblies meets documentation and engineering drawings.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Required Experience: Must be able to interpret prints, drawings, process routings, and specifications. Must have experience scuffing and/or blending coatings in preparation for topcoats. Must possess thorough knowledge of the various types of metals for appropriate tool selection and to properly identify reactions to buffering and polishing operations. Must have general knowledge of masking techniques. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Confidential Security Clearance. Preference will be given to candidates with an existing Clearance. Special PPE (Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, etc), provided by the company, is required for this position. Required Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
