Job Description
Responsibilities:
- The Maintenance Millwright responds to operations requests for corrective action and scheduled preventive maintenance per the assigned work order and Foreman's direction.
- Analyzes the condition and associated documentation to trouble shoot and execute corrective actions or preventive maintenance in line with safe practices and operation oversight.
- Provides comprehensive feedback and documentation of actions taken and equipment condition on the work order to the Foreman.
- Advises foreman of all non-completed repairs and the cause for the delay.
- Advises Foreman of all temporary repairs and details the cause for the repair.
- Replace shaft, bearings, mechanical seals, sleeves and couplings as needed on rotating equipment.
- Performs vibration routes as needed and documents information. Prepares a monthly report on findings to management (or as requested).
- PMs all rotating equipment including but not limited to air compressors, chillers, vacuum pumps, centrifugal pumps and mobile equipment on an as needed basis.
- Basic knowledge and application of laser alignment, reverse alignment.
- Updates Foreman and Operations on status of work in progress.
- Signs off work order with Operations.
- Utilizes materials and equipment in accordance with needs to perform the work.
- Provides PM task and procedures feedback on frequency, procedures, tasks, materials, problems etc.
- Advises Foreman of any on condition repair requirements discovered.
- Identify and immediately initiate corrective action on unsafe conditions in the area to the Foreman and Operations.
- Maintain personal and company tools and equipment in a safe, clean, and usable condition.
- Receives work instruction and direction directly through the Foreman.
- Monitors operating equipment for "on condition" repair requirements.
- Completes qualified incidental repairs as directed.
- Assist with other duties such as pipefitting, painting or other duties as directed by supervision.
- Confirms equipment release, isolation, clearance by operations, tagged, and permitted before starting any maintenance action. No work permit means no work on the equipment.
- Complete scheduled repairs and PM's in a timely and professional manner.
- Keep a clean and tidy work area.
- Aligns with and understands plant maintenance goals.
- Provides leadership for all matters pertaining to rotating reliability.
- Is a technical resource for all maintenance and reliability personnel in their day-to-day activities for rotating equipment.
- Analyzes rotating equipment failure and makes recommendations (redesign, training, etc.) to prevent reoccurrence.
- Creates, implements, and monitors procedures for rotating equipment including PMs, vibration analysis, etc.
- Aids in the training of technical team members, technicians, foremen, and craftsmen in all matters pertaining to rotating equipment.
- Monitors rotating equipment documentation for accuracy and completeness and take remedial actions as appropriate.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
High school diploma/GED
Requirements:
- Completion of a journeyman's level training program and certification for the craft of machinist or millwright.
- 3+years experience in a chemical manufacturing plant or refinery in the maintenance organization as a craftsman.
- Background knowledge of the operating equipment and process including but not limited to: Centrifugal pumps, screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, in-line and right angle gear drives, rigid and flexible couplings, lubrication and Monarch vibration instrumentation (handheld).
- Understanding of maintenance and the local maintenance process.
