This opportunity is on-site and is located at 1545 Route 22 East, Annandale, NJ 08801
Support/assist the lab supervisors/chemists by performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis/wet chemistry on product and in-process samples, to support plant operations for the purpose of quality assurance/control. Perform calibration and maintenance of test equipment. Prepare samples and ensure accurate data generation and records, in accordance with the standard operating procedures. Utilize analytical instruments to address quality assurance/control issues. Prepare chemical stock solutions and reagents, as well as set preparation standards. Under minimal supervision, performs advanced scientific experiments to obtain reliable data with understanding of broad research objectives in support of oil and gas production and conversion as well as low carbon energy transition technology.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Laboratory Operations for Materials, Catalysis & Separations
Synthetic experience of organic and inorganic molecules and materials (e.G. Organic molecules, zeolites, MOFs, metal oxides, etc.), using traditional organic chemistry equipment and/or higher temperature and pressure equipment (e.G. Autoclaves)
Synthetic work-up, separations, purifications, and temperature treatments with gas flow
Familiar with molecular and materials characterization techniques (e.G. Spectroscopy, XRD, SEM)
Familiar with materials formulation (e.G. Spray drying, extrusion)
Familiar with unit operation for gas phase reactivity or adsorption (e.G. TGA, TPR/TPO, chemisorption, physisorption)
Become very familiar with all operational parameters and equipment for each unit (thermocouples, pressure transducers, heaters, etc.)
Perform analytical testing and submit/inventory samples as needed
Perform routine maintenance/mechanical work
Strong safety ethic/awareness; identify potential safety issues and propose solutions
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelors or Associates degree in science with laboratory experience at the college level
Strong computer skills
High energy level; ability to thrive in an environment with a high degree of multi-tasking required every day
Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills, working with technicians, operators and researchers
Work enthusiastically and effectively with researchers, op team members, maintenance personnel, etc.
Extremely high work standard
Ensure quality by meticulously following both standard and job specific procedures
Strict Quality compliance (accurate records, measurements, calibrations, etc.)
Flexible to move between laboratory and pilot plant assignments (including shift work) as business needs dictate
Troubleshooting experience and ability to problem solve
Polytechnic graduate with the background in Chemical/Process/Technical Engineering.
Computer-literate.
Preferable experience in quality control systems.

Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
