The main function of a lab technician is to perform routine analytical laboratory tests for the characterization of crude oil and its products to assist researchers with the development of new technologies in the oil and gas industry. A typical lab technician may work under the supervision of a scientist.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities: Set up, adjust, maintain, operate and clean analytical laboratory equipment. Analyze the results of tests and experiments to ensure conformity to quality specifications, using wet preparation procedures and advanced analytical equipment such as NMR and GC-MS. Analyze, gather and record test data to issue reports that use charts, graphs and narratives.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills. Basic ability to work independently and manage ones time. Basic knowledge of the information and techniques used in an analytical testing laboratory. Basic ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results. Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field preferred. 2-4 years experience required.
Must have a valid driver s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $ 20.00- $29.50 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
