Roles and Responsibilities
WORKFORCE ENGAGEMENT
Provide safety related guidance by participating in safety meetings, pre job planning (i.E. HOP start-of-shift), HSEs, audits, SWP deviations, mitigation planning, refinery instructions reviews/updates, and working teams.
Conduct field audits, including work permits (paper & ePTW), and provide feedback/coaching (conducts six (6) Field V & Vs per quarter
Support contractor Operations Excellence Management (COEM) Process (field verifications
Provide guidance on federal, state, local laws/regulations, and company procedures (i.E. Refinery instructions)
Support 2023 Goals and Objectives of H&S Team
Workforce sees you as "help"
No serious injuries or incidents in your assigned areas
Focus on high risk/high consequence activities
INCIDENT INVESTIGATION & REPORTING
Support incident investigation and reporting activities involving Business Partners
Gather Initial incident information, including photos (if applicable) and statements, and enter first report into IMPACT ERM
Email applicable Business Partner and Company Management contacts using template and distribution list
Support investigation team (if applicable)
TURNAROUNDS
Conduct/participate in field audits/walks (i.E Field, V&Vs and WAWIs)
Attend/Participate in pre-TA job walks to evaluate (e.G decons, traffic control, evacuation routes, permit shacks, equipment positioning, scaffolding-netting/holes in deck, fire safety equipment, tool rooms/sheds
Provide II&R support as designed for event
Take on active Red Hat leadership role by onboarding additional safety personnel for event and managing/scheduling of crews
Support the development and execution of Turnaround Safety plans
Qualifications and Education Requirements
OSHA 30 certified
5+ years of refinery/industry work experience
Minimum 5 years refinery experience as a Safety Professional (Red Hat)
Ability to read and interpret state and federal regulations along with Corporate and DS&C standards to develop clear oral and written guidance to contract personnel.
Must be able to establish strong working relationships with industry partners, and internal stakeholders.
Strong project management skills and experience.
Have good communication skills and a willingness to work situations to resolutions as they arrive, in a professional manner
Must have a valid driver s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Safety / HES or another science / technical field
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
OSHA 500 and 501 or 510 and 511
Military training equivalent of OSHA 500 and 501 OR 510 and 511
Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $45.00 -55.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
