LOCATION
Quanset airport / Rhode Island


SCHEDULE
Workhours 8 hour shifts while onshore / 12 hour shifts while offshore
Until the end of June 2023, Onshore, Mon-Fri
July to October 2023, Offshore -14/14
Nov. To Dec. 2023, Onshore
Implementation of the Client Electrical Safety Rules on site, including the safe system of work
Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to Wind Turbine Generators, offshore substations and both HV submarine and onshore cables
Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment
Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security and integrity of the HV network
Contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties and that the process works effectively
Coordinate MV/HV/LV commissioning activities through the project construction stages
High Voltage Switching experience

Tasks for the Senior Authorized Person
Ensure compliancy with and managing of Client Electrical Safety Rules
Safety coordination in electrical matters
Act as senior authorized person
Outage management and network control in collaboration with the Control Engineers
Update MV/HV/LV schematic diagrams
Inspect work sites and perform site safety inspections and auditing for electrical matters
Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to ensure that accurate updates are distributed to the Project Management
Manage and coordinate HV/MV/LV commissioning activities
Coordinate with National Grid and attend commissioning panel meetings
Prepare and check high voltage switching schedules
Check method statements for electrical matters
Implement and provide training programmes for relevant staff according to the rules
Provide technical and engineering advice to working parties for electrical matters
Assist different departments in Client when required
Attendance at FAT and SAT tests if required

Key Deliverables
Input to the project commissioning management manual and related documents (including pre-commissioning and commissioning quality plans)
Participation in different audits
Reports from FAT & SAT on the different high voltage equipment s
Onsite check of switching programs
Participation in the planning of resource and work activities
Participation in authorizations and assessments of new candidates
Deliver inputs to the design phase of the project on technical aspects

Project will pay for transport from consultants home to office in Quonset Airport (and back)

ii. 20 Months contract with option for extension of 1 year
iii. Specified GWO/other courses needed for traveling offshore
iv. GWO courses to be paid by consultant (also if not GWO but needed for offshore)
v. Rota 14 days on/14 days off when offshore
vi. Working in office in Quonset or Providence could be required and then it is Monday to Friday
vii. Traveling for training, FATs and other educational purposes will be needed (in this case traveling costs will be reimbursed by Client)
viii. All Insurance healthcare etc. To be paid by consultant
ix. Accommodation offshore is paid by Client
x. Accommodation if not offshore is paid by consultant

Requirements Electrical HV Commissioning specialist 66 kV
Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorization scope.
Minimum 3 months of working experience within offshore substations systems
Minimum 1 year of working experience within Wind turbines
Complete and up to date GWO courses and HUET with CA-EBS if required by site (climbing gear person weight limit 120kg/264lb)
Minimum high school degree

CONTRACT TERM
2 years with a possibility of extension

Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $ 80-100 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.

Please Note:
Must have a valid driver s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.
