Job Description


Title: Stakeholder Relations Advisor-Houston

Company and JERA Americas are evaluating the development of a low-carbon ammonia production facility along the US Gulf Coast, which would accelerate production and supply of low-carbon fuel to markets in the US, Europe, Japan and greater Asia. The proposed ammonia production facility would produce hydrogen and convert it into clean ammonia for transport to domestic and international markets with a target of achieving first commercial deliveries by the end of the decade.

The Low Carbon Stakeholder Relations (SR) Advisor will coordinate activities related to the below-mentioned responsibilities and collaborate within a stakeholder engagement team to develop and implement stakeholder relations objectives and plans for low carbon ventures. These efforts will include strategy development and implementation related to community investment and education/advocacy for the company s energy transition efforts. The individual will also help coordinate engagement reporting to senior management/Executive Leadership Team and support the Lower 48 Stakeholder Relations Manager as appropriate.

Your responsibilities may include:
Support the development and implementation of community engagement strategies and risk mitigation efforts for low-carbon ventures
Work closely with GA and communications teams to develop strategies and communications
Support the planning, coordination, and execution of stakeholder forums
Support external engagements where appropriate
Community Investment Strategy development, Cybergrants, processing sponsorships/payment, budgeting
Support regular reporting efforts and presentations for senior management/Executive Leadership Team
Monitor community engagements and support response efforts associated with feedback mechanisms
Monitor local media to glean trending issues
Work several short and long-term issues or projects concurrently
Meet commitments and deliver project results
Cultivate diverse stakeholder support
Use communications and social skills to align people and motivate the organization to achieve goals

Basic/Required:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. Citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
Bachelor s degree or higher in Business Administration, Communications, related discipline, or foreign equivalent
3+ years of experience working with community groups, political organizations, and/or non-government organizations internally and/or externally
3+ years of experience with corporate communications, stakeholder relations, and/or government affairs
Advanced level of communication skills (written, oral, and formal presentation)
Advanced level of public speaking skills
Advanced proficiency with MS O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Teams
Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 25% of the time on a yearly basis

Preferred:

5+ years experience in energy, chemical or related industry
5+ years of experience with Stakeholder Relations, Communications, Government Affairs
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Practical self-starter that can work effectively with minimal supervision
Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
Analyzes stakeholder needs, global, political, and market trends to understand how they shape the future and impact business results
Bilingual in Spanish and English

Education:

Bachelor s degree or higher in Business Administration, Communications, related discipline, or foreign equivalent

Work Schedule:
9-80 Schedule (9Hr Days) - 5 days on / 2 days off

Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
