Job Description


This opportunity is onsite and located at: 5900 Highway 225 Deer Park, TX 77536

Schedule
: Monday -Friday 7 am- 3: 00 pm. Flexibility to cover shifts in the event there is a call off ( 5 am-1pm, 3 pm-11 pm, and weekends 7 am- 3 pm.)

The Chemical Lab Technician is an integral member of the Quality Measurements Department providing laboratory support to the Chemical Section of the Deer Park Manufacturing Complex. The role will directly support the Chemical production units by performing routine quality assurance testing.

Be versed in the operations of the following analytical instrumentation: Karl Fisher, densitometers, UV-Vis spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence, automatic distillation, flashpoint determination and automated titrators.

Be versed in the interpretation of SQC charts and applicable run rules.



Perform preventative maintenance to analytical instrumentation.

Follow Quality System procedures and protocols.

Perform routine analyses following established procedures according to protocols.

Interpret, record and report data; if off-specification, take corrective action according to protocols.

Ensure timely delivery of results.

Ability to multi-task and to communicate results to stakeholders as requested.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • A college degree with coursework in a natural science is a plus but is not required or a High School Diploma with 6 months of experience.



  • Experience with SAP/Sample Manager/ GLIMS/Open Lab/ Envantage



  • TWIC Card is required

  • Previous laboratory work experience is preferred but is not required.



  • Demonstrated experience using relevant Analytical instruments, performing routine to moderately complex data analysis, and reporting routine results to customers for Analytical technical areas mentioned above.



  • Demonstrated ability to handle a limited range of sample-dependent method adaption for non-routine samples.



  • Demonstrated ability to utilize and adapt IT tools.



  • Experience with Sample Manager is a plus.



  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with stakeholders & manage delivery for a broad set of test methods/instruments where priorities and timelines can vary over time, and initiate action when these cannot be successfully managed.



  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, enforce, and improve a quality control regime.



  • Experience with ISO compliance and SQC is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $20.00-$25.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.

Must have a valid driver s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.
