Roles and Responsibilities:
Function: Performs precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators. Adjusts or aligns through shimming and other means of mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits. Utilizes a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as: Dial Indicators, Calipers, and Micrometers to obtain proper assembly-build requirements. Maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gauges, and other measuring devices. Required to work from assembly instructions both written and oral. Essential job functions: Performs various test operations on production or repair mechanical or hydraulic actuators using necessary hydraulic, mechanical and electronic test equipment, fixtures and tools. Diagnoses common test failures and recommends or performs rework to' correct discrepancies. Holds problem units for engineering disposition. Ensures that units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and brings to the supervisor's attention any condition that is abnormal. Responsible for testing repair models for conformance to acceptance test procedures that are normally part of his/her expertise. Utilizes mechanical or electronic measuring equipment and performs tests to validate the acceptance of the model to current test requirements. Order parts as necessary utilizing the RUR and WDS systems. Responsible for proper documentation of parts replaced and work performed on data sheets. Disposition non-conforming parts in conformance with company and Government specifications. Assists in determining Repair Revisions. This position could be required to do both assembly and test.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Required skills: 1-2 years assembly experience. This an FAA safety sensitive position, FAA drug screen is required. Scope: Education: High School Diploma or GED. Preferred to have trade certificate from Aerospace Trade School (CRIMSON/Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology IS A POPULAR ONE IN THE TORRANCE AREA THAT MANAGERS PREFER) Other Requirements Manager looking for strong mechanical aptitude. The grrom students to do exactly what this job entails.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $20.00-25.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
