Lead Facilities Engineer

Qualifications and responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Maintain a safe working environment by applying process safety and personal HSE codes and principles to all designs and activities under his/her area of influence.
  • Liaison as required with the Operator concerning all facility engineering, project management, logistics and construction related issues concerning the project.
  • Review all facilities engineering information/documents generated by the company or any of their contractors, including but not limited to studies, drawings, calculations, plans, cost estimates, schedules, etc.
  • Perform/lead the companies own internal cost and schedule estimates, risk analysis, etc., as required to support the project.
  • Recommend/initiate/manage any independent study that the Company performs in order to confirm or benchmark studies/recommendations.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines such as Production, Operations, Drilling, Completion, Land, and HSE among others, as necessary to properly conduct/review all facilities engineering studies.
  • Support the Alaska Asset and the Technical Support teams in the execution of all quality assurance reviews/events as required by the Companies Executive Direction of Technical Development (DEDT).
  • Quickly and accurately determine critical engineering issues, communicate problems effectively to stakeholders and develop solutions to those issues.
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills to effectively interact with/present to Company personnel, including Senior Management.
  • Apply continuous improvement techniques to optimize process maps for all activities under his/her area of influence.

Education, Experience, Technical Qualifications:

  • The Facilities Engineer will combine strong communication and interpersonal skills with a strong understanding of production operations preferably in the Arctic environment.
  • Additional qualifications include:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, petroleum or chemical engineering, Texas Professional Engineer Certification is a plus.
    • Minimum 7 years of broad petroleum industry experience.
    • 6+ years of relevant experience in Production Facilities projects, from concept evaluation to execution (detailed engineering, procurement and construction).
    • Previous experience with designing and managing facilities projects, in a remote and challenging environment.
    • Demonstrate technical, project management and leadership skills as required to successfully execute Production projects and deliver a quality product.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Demonstrate a commitment to a safe work environment
    • Strong team player
    • Self-confidence to be able to make recommendations with limited information
    • Availability to travel (mostly between Texas, Colorado, and Alaska; some international travel may also be required)
    • Desire for continuous learning
